Mechanical and Electrical Engineer needed for our Stoke on Trent based client.
Job Summary:
We are seeking a versatile and skilled Mechanical and Electrical Engineer with a strong background in electrical systems, mechanical maintenance, welding and fabrication, and general workshop operations. The ideal candidate will also demonstrate a commitment to health and safety standards and hold a valid forklift certification.
Key Responsibilities:
Mechanical & Electrical Maintenance:
Install, maintain, and repair mechanical and electrical equipment and systems.
Conduct preventative maintenance on machinery and facilities.
Diagnose faults and perform timely repairs to minimize downtime.
Electrical Work:
Carry out electrical installations, inspections, and testing in accordance with relevant standards.
Read and interpret electrical diagrams and schematics.
Ensure all electrical work complies with industry regulations and safety standards.
Workshop & Equipment Operation:
Safely operate forklifts and other workshop machinery to move equipment and materials.
Maintain tools and ensure workshop cleanliness and organization.
Health & Safety Compliance:
Follow safe work practices and company safety policies at all times.
Participate in safety briefings and contribute to maintaining a hazard-free work environment.
Conduct basic risk assessments and report potential safety issues.
Qualifications & Experience:
Recognized Electrical Qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds 2365/2330, or equivalent).
Proven experience in both mechanical and electrical engineering roles.
Hands-on experience with welding (MIG, TIG, ARC) and metal fabrication.
